Samsung: keeping SafeKids running

Stop One UI battery optimization from killing the kid app in the background.

Updated: 2026-04-22

Samsung's One UI uses Sleeping apps and Deep sleeping apps lists. We must remove SafeKids Kid from them.

Steps

  1. Settings > Battery and device care > Battery.
  2. Tap Background usage limits.
  3. Open Sleeping apps and Deep sleeping apps.
  4. If SafeKids Kid is on either list, remove it.

Samsung settings

Also do

Settings > Apps > SafeKids Kid > Battery > Unrestricted.

Settings > Device care > Memory > Auto-optimization > off (optional but helps).

Verify

Lock the phone for 10 minutes. Reopen the parent app — the location dot should still be updating.
